Confirm access
Make sure the property owner or authorized representative has approved entry and that keys, lockbox information, gates, and occupied areas can be accessed as arranged.
Keep utilities and equipment available
When safe and appropriate, utilities and installed equipment should be on and operable. The inspector does not activate shut-down systems or override unsafe conditions.
Clear important access points
Reasonable access to the electrical panel, water heater, HVAC equipment, attic opening, crawlspace entrance, and under-sink areas can reduce avoidable limitations.
Share known constraints
