Inspection scope resource

Standards of Practice

Oklahoma home inspectors are regulated by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board. Applicable law, standards, and the signed inspection agreement help define the inspection scope.

A visual, non-invasive inspection

A standard home inspection addresses visible and readily accessible systems and components within the applicable scope. It is not technically exhaustive or destructive.

The agreement remains important

The signed inspection agreement identifies the contracted service, exclusions, limitations, and terms for the specific property.

Code compliance is different

A standard home inspection is not a complete municipal code-compliance inspection, although visible safety concerns or conditions warranting further evaluation may be reported.

Read the official Oklahoma rules

The Oklahoma Construction Industries Board publishes the governing home-inspector rules and related licensing information.
